First Coding Training for SHS Teachers kicked-off in Cebu City
CodersGuild.NET and The Cebu IT BPM. Organization (CIB.O), in close coordination with the Cebu City government, City School Board and DEPED Region VII (Division of Cebu), identified five (5) schools to undergo coding training and lead the production of good programming talents in the region.
Cebu City National Science High School, Apas National High School, Tisa National High School, Mabolo National High School, and Don Carlos Gothong High School sent at least five (5) teachers each to participate in a two-day rigid coding training session.
A total of 30 teachers enrolled in the first Phase of the training which started last October 2018. Phase 2 also recently completed its run last April 2019.
The trained teachers are expected to impart what they have learned from coding training to their students and eventually, guide and inspire them to make Cebu and the whole country one of the most sought out places for good coders.

The long-term goal for this project is to find talent and develop their programming skills that will meet the demands of the IT/software industry worldwide. The project also aims to inspire other cities in the country to follow Cebu City's lead in producing more and more quality programming talent.
The first coding training was also supported by Accenture, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and Cebu City National High School Batch 76.
