Teacher Training in Rizal and Zamboanga Followed after Success in Cebu City

After the success of the first coding training for senior high school teachers in Cebu City, two more training were held at STI College Ortigas-Cainta in Rizal and STI Zamboanga in Zamboaga City.
A total of 20 high school teachers participated in the training held last March 29, 2019 at STI College Ortigas-Cainta. Majority of the participants came from four (4) STI College branches in Luzon.
STI College Santa Rosa also signed an MOU with CGN to implement the Computer Science Education Program (CSEP) in their campus and incorporate it in their current curriculum. Representing STI College Santa Rosa is President and CEO, Mr. Antonio Del Carmen.
Zamboanga City, with the support of the Zamboanga ICT Council (ZICT), Zamboanga City City Government and DICT Mindanao Cluster 1, also organized two-day coding training to 11 teachers from 9 schools in the region.
Sta. Maria Central School SPED Center, Tetuan Central School, Pasonanca Elementary School, Curuan National High School, MCLLNHS, Mangusu Integrated School, Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School, ECC-Baluno National High School, and Guiwan Elementary School were among the schools who participated in the coding training held last April 25 - 26, 2019 at STI Zamboanga.
The event was also graced by Councilor Juan Climaco Elago II where he officially started the program with his opening message for all guests and participants.
The coding training give the participants an overview of the CGN courseware and instructional methods, a deep-dive into one training module, and a learning simulation for that module. The training also demonstrates that teachers who are not accomplished programmers can coach students on how to code.
